Frequently Asked Questions

What area do you cover?

We primarily cover the Lake District and Cumbria but also attend weddings in North Lancashire and West Yorkshire.  If you have a request outside of these areas, get in touch and we may be able to help.

How far in advance should we book your services?

We advise you to book us as soon as you have a date and venue confirmed, as our services can book up a long way in advance. We're currently taking bookings for 2025 (and have some limited availability left for 2024) - for 2026 weddings, you can join our notification list  to be the first to know when bookings open.  Once you have your dog care reserved, you can enjoy planning the rest of your day!

We're not sure what service we want - when do we need to decide?

If you can't choose between our Gold and Platinum Services, you can decide closer to your wedding day. The key priority initially is to book with us to secure your date. We can provide further information later on about the different services and discuss your plans in more detail on the Discovery Call and at the Bonding Session.

What happens on the Discovery Call?

The call is a great opportunity for you to ask us questions about our different services and also to get to know us a bit better so you feel happy that we're the right ones to care for your dog. If you have any concerns regarding your dog's care, let us know on this call and we can address those. We can outline in a bit more detail how a typical day works and also discuss with you your initial plans for the day regarding your dog.

With our vast experience chaperoning dogs at weddings, we can offer advice and guidance on what has worked well in the past so you can consider it all in your planning. It's also a great opportunity for you to tell us more information about your dog or dogs.

Do you require a deposit to secure our booking?

Yes, we ask for a 25% deposit following the Discovery Call to secure your booking with us.

What happens at the Bonding Session?

This session is a great opportunity for your dog or dogs to get to know us (and us them) ahead of the big day, so we can start the bonding process. This works really well in ensuring they are happy to come along with us on your wedding day. It also helps to give you peace of mind, as you can meet us face to face and we can have a discussion at the end of the session about plans and follow up.

We'll meet you, take your dog(s) for a walk, introduce them to our home and then meet back up with you for a de-brief.

Can we meet you more than once?

Additional bonding sessions can be added onto the service if we feel this would be beneficial for your dog (for example, if they are anxious and/or take time to bond with new people). If you think more than one meeting would be helpful, let us know and we can discuss this further on the Discovery Call.

What information do you need about my dog?

Ahead of the Bonding Session, we'll ask you to complete and return a comprehensive consultation form to provide us with additional information about your dog, their health, temperament, behaviour, likes/dislikes, routines, etc.

My dog is anxious/reactive or has other behaviour issues - can you still care for them?

Let us know about this upon enquiry and we can discuss this further on your Discovery Call. We can usually work out a plan so you can enjoy your day knowing they are well cared for and having their needs met.

When do we pay the final balance?

We send the invoice a month in advance of your wedding but can issue this earlier upon request.
